Special Statement from GM Dale Ryland

Here at Pacific Rock, we take pride in the quality of our products. That’s why for nearly 100 years, we have committed to remaining a family-owned enterprise, hiring local, and sustainably sourcing our seafood directly from the area around Skinner Island. We give back to the community on Skinner, and take nothing more seriously than our responsibility to the town that’s grown up around us.

Unfortunately, you’ve probably heard our name in the press recently. We feel we’ve let our community down, and we’re owning up to it: We are cooperating fully with the Skinner Police, Lane County Sherriff, FDA, and OSHA in their respective investigations. We’re also overhauling our security procedures to ensure that such an incident never happens again.

We’re heartbroken about what happened. Particularly while our company is already mourning the second anniversary of our own tragedy. And it pains me, from the bottom of my heart, to have to write this letter.

But I want to let you know that at no time was the safety of Pacific Rock products ever impacted.

I’m confident in our products. You should be, too.

In Grief and Solidarity,

Dale Ryland
